Copy-protected Save Files

Hi,
I'm wondering if anyone has a link to a tutorial on how to transfer a save file to another console and getting it to work?
I'm currently trying to avoidusing PSN.
Hoping there's some software so you can modify the save file and just transfer using USB drive and play.
