wanted to know if my ps3 can be flashed to play backups/games?

okay so im used to this on xbox 360 but i have a ps3 i dont really use but i wanted to know if it can be flashed to play fake games

new to ps3 flashing and such

wondering what is the requirements to know if it can work?
