Im on 3.41 havnt used ps3 in ages how do i play new games?

i havnt been on my ps3 for ages and its still on 3.41cfw
i see the new games need fw 4 something whats the best way to go about it

also on 4.40 regero do you lose anything that you can do from 3.41
