Hey All,
So I just bought a PS3 slim that's currently on 3.55 firmware.
The reason I got it is because the bloke got an error with it, which I'm assuming is fixable and I can fix it.
This is the message he sent me:
`worked fine until one day i got a message that says press start or select i do this and it says insert storage media with software 4.40 or over`
I'm assuming I can just put in a hard drive, and a USB with Rebug Latest and boot using recovery mode to update to rebug cfw?
It also has a broken Bluray Drive, but from what I understand I can install either a DEX or Rebug REX firmware, and use a USB pen to emulate the BD?
People have been telling me I've been duped etc and that it must already be on 4.40 to bring up that message.
Except, the guy on eBay has over 1000 Rep mainly dealing in Consoles, so I'm inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt when he says it was on 3.55 until he got the message.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
